

Karolyn Kitzelman McCarter, 59, of Loveland Colorado, passed away on Thursday October 5, 2023 due to complications of common variable immunodeficiency (CVID). Karolyn left us far too early, and she will be deeply missed by family and friends. She was compassionate and would step in to help a friend in need. Karolyn had a great love for animals, especially her dog Molly, who is missing her now.
Karolyn was born in Denver, Colorado on June 25, 1964, and grew up in Littleton, Colorado. She attended the University of California at Santa Barbara and the University of Colorado at Denver, where she received a Bachelor of Arts Degree. She lived in Mission Viejo California for 27 years where she worked as a teacher, an environmental training consultant, and was a small business owner. Karolyn enjoyed gymnastics, scuba diving, and hiking, as well as spending time with her family and friends.
Karolyn is survived by her husband Paul of Loveland, Colorado; daughter Sarah and her husband Jake of Mission Viejo, California; stepdaughter Layla of Las Vegas, Nevada; mother Jacquie and stepfather Macy of Littleton, Colorado; and stepmother Kathy of Littleton Colorado. Her father Al passed away suddenly on October 8, 2023. Karolyn is also survived by sister Jennifer and her husband Louis of Boise, Idaho; nephew A.J. and his wife Marissa; niece Emily and her husband Drew of Boise, Idaho, and great nephew Finn of Boise, Idaho.

A memorial service will be held at Namaqua Unitarian Universalist Church in Loveland, Colorado on Sunday November 19, 2023, at 2:00 pm.
