Kathryn G. Connelly

Kathryn Grace Connelly passed away on November 13, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Daniel Aloysius Connelly, 17 days before she passed. Born on May 11, 1926 in Ancram, New York, her family had a long lineage of German and English descent from the 1700's living in New York. She attended a rural school which is where she met the love of her life, Daniel Aloysius Connelly. They were married on September 19, 1948. They recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary together. She attended Beauty College in New York City after graduating from high school and set up business in her family home in Ancram. She became the appointed Postmaster in Ancram, New York after her father passed away suddenly 9 days before she and Daniel were married. Her father had been the Postmaster for many years along with running the General Store in Ancram. After the family move to Colorado due to Daniel's career with IBM, she was a committed and long term volunteer in the gift shop at Boulder Community Hospital. She and her good friend, Jean McNeely, were the buyers for the merchandise sold in the gift shop and worked together in the gift shop for over 30 years. She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking and baking. She was also an accomplished seamstress making her own clothes, her daughters and granddaughters clothes. She passed on this love of sewing to many in the family as well as teaching most of the girls how to crochet. She enjoyed gardening and was an organic gardener learned from her mother.

She is survived by her children, Bill Connelly (wife Maryann), Donna Palinkx (significant other Heinz) and Debbie Fredrickson. She was preceded in death by her parents William Henry and Mabel Porter, her brothers William Stanley "Tiny" Porter, Fredrick Henry "Fritz" Porter, J. Hoysradt "Mike" Porter and son-in-law, John Fredrickson. She was a very special Grandma to 6 granddaughters; Amy VanAntwerp (husband Michael), Elisha Bogott (significant other Jake), Kelly Micklich (husband David), Anna Connelly, Emily Hosanna (husband Garrett) and Ivy Connelly (husband Matthew). She felt so blessed to have 4 great grandchildren; Ellison Daniel Hosanna, Memphis Hudson Belcher, Destanie Dettmann (husband Cody) and Kate Annan.

A family graveside service will be held.
