August 15, 2025 at the age of 78. He was born on December 2, 1946 in Kansas City, MO, the
only child of Paul & Arvilla Heiman.
He was raised in Beloit, KS where he graduated from Beloit
High School in 1964. Known for his stubborn streak, sharp wit, and unwavering dedication to
those he loved, Larry Paul lived a life marked by service, strength, and a unique sense of humor
that won over everyone who truly knew him. As a teenager, he was famously ornery and tested
the limits. His rebellious nature as a youth shaped a man that never backed down from
challenge. There have been many stories told over the years.
Larry was married to Paulette Sahlfeld on August 16, 1969 and two children were born to this
union, Kara (Heiman) Riemann, and Jerrin Heiman. He worked at Heiman and Good appliance
and later at Rawlings Plumbing until the business closed in 1987. He then worked for the Beloit
school system as a custodian before furthering his education in which he then taught
Plumbing/HVAC at the NCK Technical College. In his early years Larry proudly served in the
Army National Guard where he served for 24 years retiring as Master Sergeant. He also served
his community for 25 years as a volunteer firefighter and his steady presence made him a
beloved figure to many.
Larry was remarried to Sherrie Fuller on July 1, 1993 in Las Vegas, they resided in Beloit until
1998 where they followed their dream of living in Colorado. They lived in Longmont, CO for
seven years where Larry was employed by Meyers in which he did HVAC. They moved to
Berthoud, CO in 2005 and Larry retired in 2008 due to the wear and tear from his occupation
that forced him to do so. Larry and Sherrie enjoyed many trips to the mountains and get
togethers with cousins and aunts and uncles.
In his final months, Larry spent eight long months in and out of hospitals, enduring numerous
health challenges. Though his body grew weaker, his spirit remained strong and he faced his
health struggles with the same resilience and determination that defined much of his life. His
family was with him through it all, providing the love and support he needed during this difficult
time.
Larry is preceded in death by his father Paul, mother Arvilla, son Joshua Fuller, and many aunts
and uncles. He is survived by his wife Sherrie, daughter Kara (Mike), son Jerrin (Brianne),
grandchildren Colson (fiancée Danah Dean) Riemann, Danielle (fiancée Hudson Gray), Kaitlynn
(fiancée Garrett), Jordan, Parker, Brooklyn Hanes, and Eve Fuller.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date where family and friends will come together to
honor his memory, share stories, and reflect on the impact he had on our lives.
