This isn’t about me,  how you made me feel or were a part of my life.  This is about how  you LIVED in a way those who know you will truly understand:

You lived from the end of a fishing pole.

You lived from the stock end of a rifle.

You lived sitting in a freezing blind.

You lived by walking miles of wheat fields.

You lived by having a lab you trained retrive a pheasant to your hand.

You lived by sleeping in the bed of your pickup.

You lived by seeing the sun rise and set.

You lived by harvesting a buffalo.

You lived by cooking your own game.

You lived by dragging a shot buck antelope  out of the field alone.

You lived by never getting a bite while fishing for days.

You lived by fishing from a boat.

You lived by hunting Alaska.

You lived by field dressing your game in below zero temperatures.

You lived by saving your points to get a chance to hunt.

You lived by making your own bullets.

You lived by shooting your guns at the Pawnee.

You lived by holding grandpa’s hand as he passed away.

Pretty good darn good!

 I’m glad you’re not hurting.  I’m glad you are  not hungry or thirsty.   I’m glad you are not tired and you have no worries.

To Sue and the kids - The last time Gloria and I saw Lewie was LHS graduation day 1965.  Another classmate gave us Lewie's phone number.  We met him at the Traveling Vietnam Wall Memorial Day 2017.   After 52 years, we are so glad we got to spend some time with him in his last year of life, to reminisce, to talk Vietnam days, to learn a little about his family, his work life, to enjoy time together with other classmates.  What a wonderful friend he was, a good down-to-earth character, patriotic to the core, unique Lewie in so many ways.  He was so much fun to talk to.  Our lives were enriched by him in the little time we had this past year.  If we could just have one more day to spend with him...…….

I can't Express the sadness in my heart for the loss of an incredible man who was a great friend! We are all blessed to have had him in our lives and I will miss him always.  Thank you, Lou, for all of the great memories! I love you sir!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you sacrificed and gave to make me who I am today. I love you Dad, and will always until the end of my days here on earth and beyond.
