Lois Marie Biederstadt, 75, of Loveland, Colorado passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 7, 2024. She was born to James and Emma Jane Reed Akers on June 19,1949 in Williamson, West Virginia. Lois grew up in Matewan, West Virginia and after high school moved to Chicago, Illinois where she met and fell in love with David Biederstadt. They married on July 3, 1968 and recently celebrated their 56th anniversary.
Lois had a diverse and fulfilling career. She spent several years as a self-taught IT Support Specialist for Interweave Press, where she provided crucial technical assistance and ensured the smooth operation of the company’s systems. Later, she transitioned to a role as a Bookkeeper for Aqua Spas, where her meticulous attention to detail and financial acumen played a key role in maintaining the company’s financial health. She retired in 2011 to focus her attention on the loves of her life, her grandchildren and her crafts.
Lois found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. She cherished spending quality time with her loved ones, immersing herself in the pages of a good book, watching classic movies, and indulging in her creative passions of sewing and knitting. With a lifelong thirst for knowledge, she was always eager to learn new things and expand her horizons. Lois had a fiercely competitive spirit that came alive whenever she watched her beloved Denver Broncos or her favorite tennis players-John McEnroe, Steffi Graf, Pete Sampras, and Serena Williams. Her passion for sports was contagious, and she was known for cheering with unwavering intensity, as if she were right there on the field or court with them.
Lois is survived by her husband, David; two daughters, Robin (Dave) Cordova and Rachael (Chris) Peden; five grandchildren: Stephanie, Trevor and Alaina Cordova; Andrew and Rylee Peden; sister, Dee Akers and many nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was preceded in death by her mother, Emma Akers; father, James Akers; sisters, Sheila Bivens and Linda Akers; and brother, Ray Akers.
A celebration of Lois’ life will be held on September 7, 2024 at The Lake Club, 4555 Long Pine Lake Drive in Loveland at 11:00am. Family and friends, both old and new, are welcome as we gather in remembrance and honor the impact she had on us all.
Though our hearts are heavy, we find solace in knowing that Lois’ love and spirit will continue to guide us. She will be forever missed but never forgotten.
