Marion (aka "Bud") was born on September 30,1932 to William and Lena Huggins in Carrollton, Ohio. Bud was the fifth of six children. He grew up on a farm where his family raised cattle and had a huge vegetable garden. One year the house burnt down and he and his family lived in the top of the barn through the winter. He talked of how the community helped each other and provided his family help during that time. He went to school outside of Carrollton in a one room schoolhouse through the 4th grade. He went to Carrollton High School and graduated in 1950. It was there that he met his future wife, Muza. He was a football player as a guard and Muza was one of the cheerleaders. After High School he starting working for Buckeye Pipeline, as a field foreman, later promoted to a supervisor. His employment with Buckeye was interrupted by the Korean War. He was drafted into the U.S.Army and served from 1952-54. He was made a Staff Sergeant in charge of radio communication maintenance. After Muza’s graduation they married on October 19,1953.
Bud and Muza moved to Champion, Ohio and started a family. They became parents to four boys and a girl. Bud is survived by his children; William (Anita), Marion Jr., (Patty), Robert (Beverly), Susan (Barry), Joseph. Bud is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and two sisters, Wilma and Lena.
After living in Champion they later moved to Norwalk, Ohio. They have opened their hearts and home to many along the way, especially friends of their children, becoming especially close to the Knoll family. From Norwalk they moved to Middlefield, Ohio and then to Fort Collins in 1997.
Bud was an active member of the Southside Baptist Church in Fort Collins. He loved traveling, camping, and hiking. He was a member and President of the Summer Bummers camping club and a hiking club as well. He also did a lot of volunteering at the Salvation Army.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents, his brother William and his sisters, Mary and Dorothy. His wife Muza passed away April 8, 2013.
Calling hours will be Friday, August 31,2018 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Allnutt Funeral Service, 2100 N. Lincoln Avenue, Loveland, Colorado. The Memorial Service will be Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with at reception following at the same facility. Interment will be at 2:30 p.m. at Roselawn Cemetery, 2718 E. Mulberry St. Fort Collins.
