Marjorie Grace Anderson went home to be with the Lord at age 72, on July 14, 2018, at Mirasol Green House Homes in Loveland, Colorado, after a long struggle with vascular dementia. Marj led a very full life and God was gracious to surround her with great family, friends and care in her final years.
Marj was born on December 10, 1945, in Manchester, Iowa, to amazing and loving and God-serving parents, the late Rev. John and Ruth Snapp. She was the fifth of six children. The eldest and youngest sons, Jack and Randy Snapp, preceded her in death. She is survived by her three sisters, Paula Grosz of Moorhead, Minnesota, Janet Main of Branson, Missouri, and Maribeth Teigen of Olympia, Washington. At age 18, Marj married Richard Mac Cason of Durango, Colorado, with whom she had two children. She is survived by her daughter and her family Carrie (Cason) and Lane Eskew of Fort Collins, Colorado, and granddaughters Hannah and Alisha; and her son and his family Richard and Angela Cason of Loveland, Colorado, and grandchildren BraeDee and Paeton. She was a loving mother and Gram and loved spending time with her family.
After high school, Marj practiced as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Durango, Colorado. She is known more for her last two careers. Marj and her late husband Michael Dean Anderson ran the Branson Café together for over 10 years in Branson, Missouri. Marj was an amazing cook and famous for her baked goods, apple butter and chicken fried steak. After selling the café, she returned to school and her love of caregiving to become a Registered Nurse. She was an oncology nurse for about 20 years and her last job was Patient Care Supervisor for Community Hospice. She was very compassionate and loved caring for the needs of her patients and employees.
She was also very involved in serving others through her local church. Whenever the church doors were open, she was there. She enjoyed helping with singing on the worship team, attending Bible study, missions and cooking for events but in the last years of her life she loved talking about going to Heaven to be with her Lord Jesus.
Marj made many fond memories over the years. Her favorite holiday was Christmas and all the decorations. Sometimes she would have a Christmas tree in every room. In the winter she could hardly wait for it to snow. She even named her dog Frostee. She often spoke of her childhood memory, playing outside in the snow with her dad when she was little.
Marj was a wonderful hostess and always enjoyed sharing her home with family and friends. When people visited she would make her famous apricot coffee cake. For many years she would host an annual family reunion in Branson. She loved God, her family and many friends.
The family gives their greatest and warmest gratitude to everyone who helped care for and love Marj over the past years of health challenges.
