He was born in Manchester, NH, the son of Tony Barton and Janet Barton. Mike grew up in Goffstown, NH, attending the Villa Augustina School, then Trinity High School until the family relocated to Fort Collins, CO, in 1998, where he attended and graduated from Fort Collins High School in 2000.
As a young boy, he enjoyed playing baseball, but as he grew, soccer became his favorite. He loved to play soccer and continued to play through high school, along with being on the tennis team. He enjoyed dirt bike riding and fishing with the family on weekends. His sister remembers him loving to catch frogs on Saturday mornings.
Mike was predeceased by his father, Anthony Michael Barton. He is survived by his daughter Emma, his mother Janet Barton and her partner Alex Sandoval, his sister Shauna Simms and her husband Stanton, his niece Taylor, nephew Owen, his Memere Patricia (Lessard) Proulx as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.
