In a family bonded by our competitive spirit, we are both saddened and blessed to announce that Paige Riley “Boo” Ashley managed to be the first of us to begin her life at our Lord’s side, passing away in her sleep on December 23rd, 2025 at 27 years old.
Paige was born on June 15th, 1998 in Sterling, CO to Matthew and Shelly Ashley. From a young age, Paige was always determined to love others and encourage the best in everyone. Whether in sports, work, or family game night, she was always the lynchpin of any group due to her infectious laughter and iconic humor.
On November 7th, 2014, Paige was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. In spite of this life-altering event, she chose to re-strengthen her relationship with God and dedicate herself to helping others as a counselor at Camp Colorado through the American Diabetes Association. For having such a small stature, Paige has left an immense impact on many from being a diabetes advocate to a loving daughter, sister, niece, cousin, and Aunt.
Paige was a free-spirit, undaunted by adventure. She loved to travel to exotic beaches with her parents, attend rodeos and concerts with her friends, and cheer on the Denver Broncos with anyone smart enough to like the right team. Above all, however, her favorite interest was being an aunt. She brought endless devotion to her niece and nephews with dance parties, snuggle fests, and unconditional love.
As we strive to live like Paige, we have learned just what it means to love fiercely and without reserve. Our faith is reaffirmed by her trust in God as a favorite phrase of hers was, “Give it to God and go to sleep.”
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandfather Gordon Rich, and paternal grandmother Karen Ashley.
She is survived by her parents Matt and Shelly (Rich) Ashley of Loveland, CO; sister Brittany and Joe McKay with Kinley, Jensen, Truett, Tripp of Windsor, CO; brother Greg and Madison Ashley with Henry of Mead, Washington; brother Treyson Ashley and partner Rhiannon Hammond of Loveland, CO. Grandmother Mary Rich of Sterling, CO; grandfather Roger Ashley and partner Anita Callahan of Yuma, CO. Aunts, uncles and cousins; Terri and Monty Ransdell with Marshall and Brendan Ransdell and Matt Ransdell and Crystal Jackson of Sterling, CO; Pam and Rick Schneider with Mike and Courtney Schneider and Zoey and Warren of Englewood, CO and Emily Schneider and partner Kyle Finland of Michigan; Kris Ashley with Jake Ashley of Gloucester, VA. Cory and Kim Vance with Adalyn, Nathan and Makayla of Hutchinson, MN and IV and Ryan Mettlen of Greeley, CO.
Paige will be cremated with an open service on Friday, January 2nd, 2026 at Allnutt Funeral Service Chapel at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks to consider donating to the American Diabetes Association in honor of Paige.
