On a bright, sunny day on June 26, 1951, in Johnstown, CO Randolph (Randy) Lee DeHerrera was born. Randy joined a growing family that included his parents Sigifredo (Conde) and Margaret (Maggie) DeHerrera, and siblings, Angie, Fred, and Darlene. Later came siblings Eddie, Michael, Rodney, Melinda, and Norman to complete the family. They all grew up together in a little house in Longmont, CO. Randy and his cousin, Charles Esquibel, had many adventures together and were lifelong friends.
As a teenager Randy had a fortunate encounter with a beautiful girl, Diane, who became the love of his life. They married on June 30, 1977 and had two sons, Clinton (Clint) and Raymond (Ray/Cody). With young boys the family moved to an acreage in Berthoud, CO that they developed into a small farm. Randy passed on his "jack-of-all-trades" skills while raising the two boys.
Randy loved working on art projects, from sketching and oil paints, to sculptures and metal work. He would regularly pull over to the side of the road and take a photo of a subject he was interested in. He was also a successful fisherman and many times, if you needed to find him, you'd have to look for him at the best fishing spot.
At the age of 70, while sleeping, he went on to be with the Lord on August 17, 2021.
