

Robert was born on April 18, 1928, in Farmington, Missouri, to James Clarence and Sallie Cecilia (Goff) King, the seventh of eight children. Raised on small farms in St. Francis County, he graduated from Doe Run High and enlisted in the US Air Force.
In 1950, Robert married the love of his life, Alma (Schwab), in Grand Prairie, Texas. They shared 69 wonderful years together and built a beautiful family, raising ten children in Kansas, England, France, Massachusetts and Colorado.
Mr. King served his country with honor in a long and distinguished Air Force career spanning 22 years. He achieved the rank of Chief Master Sergeant and was part of the first class of jet engine mechanics. Following his military service, he moved to Colorado working many jobs including the Henderson mines in Colorado and later spent more than a decade in Saudi Arabia with Aramco. Robert explored the globe with Alma.
Robert was an accomplished musician who played guitar, banjo, and trumpet. He loved singing and playing the guitar, particularly cowboy songs with his children and grandchildren. He was passionate about collecting, restoring, and driving vintage automobiles—especially his beloved 1960 MGA—and took great pride in cultivating his homegrown tomatoes and green beans.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; three sisters; two sons, Raymond King and Richard King; and his beloved wife, Alma.
He is survived by his sisters Dorothy King Wood of Reno, Nevada, and Norma King Oder of Farmington, Missouri.
He leaves behind three daughters: Patricia King Diffendale (Ned) of Belchertown, Massachusetts; Mary King Merrick (Timothy) of Petaluma, California; and Sharon King Fiore (Mark) of Denver, Colorado.
He is also survived by five sons: Robert King, Jr. (Jacqueline) of Lake Tahoe, California; David King (Denise) of Detroit, Michigan; Michael King (Janice) of Denver, Colorado; James King of Loveland, Colorado; and Thomas King (Kathryn) of Stamford, Connecticut.
A viewing will be from 8:30-10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2025 followed by a funeral service at 10:00 a.m. both at Allnutt Funeral Service - Hunter Chapel, 2100 N. Lincoln Ave., Loveland. Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at Fort Logan National Cemetery, 4400 W. Kenyon Ave., Denver.
