Robert N Webb, known by his friends and family as Bob or Bobby, of Masonville, CO, lived his life on his terms and died peacefully at home on June 20, 2024. Bob was born in Trinidad, CO to Flora May Allen Webb and Robert H Webb on August 11, 1938. Bob had three siblings: Brother George Leonard, who succumbed to injuries suffered in a fire as a child in 1941 that also left Bob hospitalized for a year at Shriner’s Hospital, sister Geraldine “Jeri” Webb Connell who passed away in 2001 and brother Allen Webb & his family, who reside in Camano Island, WA.
Bob grew up in several locations, including Del Norte, Trinidad and Red Feather Lakes, CO and attended Poudre High School. Bob joined the US Navy March 6, 1956 and was honorably discharged on July 28, 1959. Bob married Peggy Ann Heslep on January 9, 1958 in Currituck, NC. Bob and Peggy had two children, Lois (Husband, Fritz Harrigfeld) born on October 11, 1958 and JoAnn born on August 18, 1961. Bob & Peggy and family lived in Arizona, Denver and Ohio as Bob worked for National Cash Register Company. Bob also had other jobs in his early years, including neon sign making and an aircraft business as he was a small airplane pilot. In 1973, Bob & Family moved to Masonville, CO where they followed a dream and purchased the Masonville Store. Bob & Peggy were divorced in July 1975.
Mardi Denny & her daughter, Melanie (Husband, Rodger Patton) moved into the Store with Bob. Over the years, under the ownership of Bob & Mardi, the store grew and developed into the Masonville Bar, the Masonville Trading Post, and the Masonville Mercantile. Bob was a jack of all trades, always knew how to fix things and always knew who to call for the right supplies. Bob also partnered in Lazy T Trailer Sales selling all types of trailers. Bob & Mardi continued running the Masonville Mercantile through 2018 when they sold it to retire to their new home close by. Mardi only got to enjoy their new home for a short time before going to Heaven on Feb 4, 2020. Bob continued to live in their new home until his passing.
Bob was an Entrepreneur at heart and was able to take nothing and turn it into something, which is part of the Legacy he leaves. He always thought out of the box, challenged the norms and didn’t pay much attention to the opinions of others. In the 80s & 90s, Bob & Mardi were very active in local politics and tax reform. They were legends in the Masonville Valley and will live on as Pioneers of the places and people that they touched along the way.
Bob had many hobbies throughout the years, including photography, rock collecting, metal detecting, antiquing, garage sales, model trains, general bs’ing and bad jokes. He always had a joke… and adjusted it according to age and audience. Bob was small in stature and big in B.S. and proud of it.
Jolene expresses that Grandpa Bob always had something to teach in his own unique way. He will be remembered for the smell of his cologne; his suspenders and an unbuttoned shirt; the sounds of Big Band or Talk Radio in the background; a tool to fix anything; watching MASH together; a pickled egg; a ride in the golf cart; and a nugget of life advice you never knew you needed.
Bob found delight in his grandchildren, Jolene and husband Dave and his precious first great grandson, Luca; Grandson Aaron Schaeffer Patton; Granddaughter LuCasey Patton and Grandson John Wahl.
Bob’s family would like to thank and recognize Glenn Kramer for his devoted care and support to Bob over the past 4+ years. As well as Bob’s son-in-law and his wife, Greg & Janet Hammond.
According to Bob’s wishes, he has been cremated and no services will be held.
One of Bob’s most recent sayings that we could all choose to live by, “Just trying to make all my tomorrows good yesterdays.”
