

He was born on September 25, 1932 in Fort Collins, CO, to Lewis and Luella Metcalf. He was one of ten children. Butch graduated from Fort Collins High School in 1951. He enlisted in the Navy in September 1951. He served during the Korean War on the destroyer the USS Tingey. He was honorably discharged in September 1955. Butch then started his sheet metal career at Pat’s Sheet Metal. He went on to work at Lahm Heating and later US Engineering where he worked until he retired in 1994.
Butch enjoyed fishing, hunting, square dancing, telling jokes, watching westerns and spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of the American Legion and VFW. He married Margie Louise Cox on December 23, 1956. He is survived by two sisters Caroline Grimm of Quesnel, BC and Jane Kerbel of Alamosa, CO; wife Margie of Loveland, CO, son Warren Allen of Casper, WY, daughter Janet Barczewski (Michael) of Loveland, CO and Laurie Gibson (Grant) of Parker, CO; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at Allnutt Funeral Service, Loveland. Inurnment will follow in Resthaven Memory Gardens with a reception following at noon at Resthaven Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer Association.
