Scotty was the most loving, kind, generous soul anyone this side of Heaven could hope to meet. He couldn’t say “no” to anyone – was always first to lend a helping hand and beaming smile. He was born and raised in Colorado Springs and graduated from Rampart H.S. in 2001. He attended the University of Wyoming and Colorado State University. While working at New Belgium Brewery, he formed very deep bonds with his coworkers. Scott had high standards and raised the bar; he always went the extra mile. The powerful, positive impression he left impacted everyone because he had the Good Lord’s spirit in his heart. Scott died, tragically in an auto wreck along Hwy. 1, in Wellington, in the early hours of December 16 as he was heading home.
Scott loved his work and his buddies there. He was excited when he earned a one-week free trip to tour Holland with them just this past spring. When he wasn’t at work, Scott was off enjoying the great outdoors. He loved camping, hiking, and fishing with friends and his dog Duncan. He was a very proud new homeowner, spending many hours each week sprucing up his lawns and gardens and the interior of his 1910 home. He had fun with kids of all ages and was a much beloved-little league baseball coach. His coaching philosophy: “Be fair, kind, patient, and work hard.”
Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Bob and Patty (McColgan) DesRochers; his sister, Michele DesRochers of W. Yellowstone, his sister, Lisa (Lance) Bolton of Colorado Springs, his brother, David DesRochers, of Colorado Springs. Also many aunt, uncles, cousins and his countless friends. Preceding Scott in death are his grandparents, William and Geraldine (Burdette) DesRochers and William and Virginia (Janse) McColgan.
In lieu of flowers, feel free to make a donation to the Ft. Collins Baseball Club in Scott’s name. fortcollinsbaseballclub.org
