Scott was born to Hyacinth “Nona” Eileen Rollwitz and William “Gramps” Frank Wagner on July 21st, 1948. He was raised in Savage, Montana with his Siblings: Doug, Terri and Janel. During those years Scott spent a great deal of time hunting and working for local ranchers. After high school he enlisted into the United States Navy. While deployed in the Philippines, Scott met the love of his life, Carlota Pandac. They married in 1974 and moved to Crane, Montana where Scott began working in the Coal industry. A few years later they relocated to Colstrip where Scott worked for Montana Power Company. They raised their 3 children Gerry, Frank and Melinda in Colstrip.
While in Colstrip, Scott served as treasurer for the local VFW chapter and played softball. He spent a great deal of time wood working, hunting, camping and fishing. He also coached his kids in sports and spent numerous weekends traveling the state to watch them play basketball, football and baseball. Scott also enjoyed watching his grandkids in Montana play sports.
After retiring, Scott and Carol relocated to Loveland, Colorado to be closer to their Colorado grandkids and watch them play sports. During this time they built a beautiful house outside of Carol’s hometown of Imelda, on the Biliran Island of the Philippine archipelago. They intended to move there and enjoy a quiet life near the ocean and mountain side where Scott could watch the boats and widdle wood. Those plans were put on hold when Scott was diagnosed with a terminal cancer. He passed peacefully in his home surrounded by family on January 19th, 2019.
Scott is preceded in death by his brother Doug, mother Eileen and father Bill Wagner.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years Carlota Wagner, sons Gerry and Frank Wagner (Sabrina), daughter Melinda Formanek (Chad), sisters Terry Heinrich (Jim) and Janel Cotter (Ervin), and his 9 grandchildren: Ariel and Melin Wagner, Sienna Robertson, Kole and Conner Formanek and Kenna, Kai, Kellen and Kerah Wagner and numerous cousins throughout Montana.
Scott will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a man of perseverance and determination. His unconditional love as a husband, father and Papa will be missed but cherished within our hearts and memories.
Private family services will be held at a later date and time.
