He was born July 20th, 1956 in Denver, Colorado, to Katherine and Howard Clouse. He was one of 5 siblings. Steve was very close to his mom, a single mother, and someone that Steve was very proud of.
In September of 1991 and June of 1994 respectively, Steve’s children with ex-wife Diane, Maximilian and Madeleine entered the world - both his greatest joys. He was known for being at every game, event, and competition, and for being a very involved father. He married the love of his life, Kate, on May 19th 2018, where his bond with his step-daughters, Kelsey and Kassidy, and parents-in-law Clark and Nancy Lupton, only grew stronger.
Steve worked for a number of years in the construction and elevator businesses. He spent over 20 years working for Thyssen Krupp, where he was an accomplished elevator technician and was well loved by, and close to, his coworkers.
Steve was an avid skier, and tennis player- both he enjoyed with his children. He also loved playing hockey, and also coached his son in hockey. He enjoyed traveling with Kate to various destinations, including a favorite, Boston, and a whole family trip to Hawaii. He was a sportsman: nourishing a love for boating, jet-skiing, and camping.
Steve was well known for his impeccable sense of humor, kind heart, and diligent work ethic. There are no words sufficient to share the light he brought to the lives of people who met him, and to describe how deeply he will be missed.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Katherine Clouse; and father, Howard Clouse.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kate Lupton Clouse of Loveland; children Maximilian Winn-Clouse and Madeleine Winn-Clouse, both of Fort Collins; ex-wife, Diane Winn-Clouse of Fort Collins; step-daughters Kelsey Wray of Loveland, and Kassidy Wray of Las Vegas, NV, and In-laws Clark and Nancy Lupton of Loveland; siblings, Terry Clouse, Nancy Pennell, Carol Boyd, and David Clouse; life-long friends Allan and Sarah McMullen and countless other loved ones and friends.
A larger celebration of life will be held at a later time when COVID restrictions will allow. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in Steve’s name to Colorado Blood Cancer Institute, or the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation.
