Stephen William Gitt

Stephen William Gitt, age 67, of Berthoud, Colorado passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2022. Stephen was born April 25, 1954 in Pennsylvania. Stephen was a graduate of Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO. He was a journalist for many years ending his career as Business Editor for the Bradenton Herald. During his 25 years in Bradenton, he served many local organizations including Hernando DeSoto Historical Society, Keep Manatee Beautiful, and the Bradenton Country Club.

He enjoyed playing golf, traveling, and spending time with his wife, Tara and son, Elliott (19).

After moving back to Colorado 11 years ago, Steve focused on supporting Elliott in his various sports activities including baseball, soccer, golf, and ice hockey.

Max was a dear childhood friend of Elliott's who was taken from us way too young. Donations to this fund support children in need through scholarship assistance and temporary resources.

The family plans a private reception in Colorado. Plans are underway for a memorial reception to be held in Bradenton in early summer.
