Sue Lynne Rehg, of Loveland, Colorado passed away on January 28, 2026, at the age of 82. She was born on March 28, 1943, in Pekin, Illinois, to Alvan and Mildred Taylor. Sue attended Champaign High school, in Champaign Illinois and graduated with the class of 1967. One of her first jobs of many was working as a dental assistant for Dr. James Gorman in Champaign.
In June of 1967, Sue married Richard (Dick) K. Rehg, whom was a pharmacist. In 1965, he and Sue bought Chuck's Drug Store in Mahomet, Illinois. In late 1976, Rehg's Pharmacy moved from downtown to a larger facility, next to the grocery store in the new shopping center, at the edge of town.
The Rehgs had a "mission" for their place in town... to be more than just a business--Faith and Family were the focus at Rehgs' - Inspirational music played over the sound system, they removed cigarettes and tobacco items as it conflicted with their promotion of good health. They eliminated all magazines and paperback books when the distributor wouldn't allow Sue to hand pick the 'acceptable' titles. Even with a large Hallmark Dept., she rejected the Shoe Box line of Hallmark cards when they were introduced and even though she purchased many Hallmark cards over her lifetime, she NEVER bought a Shoe Box card! In spite of these "decisions" Rehg's never had a down year.
In Mahomet both Sue and Dick were active in various church, school and civic activities. They led Children's church for several years.
The Rehgs sold the pharmacy to CVS in 1995 and soon, fulfilled a lifelong dream to someday live in Colorado.
In a few months Sue began volunteering at McKee Hospital, in Loveland in the recovery room and also at the Life Choices Crisis Pregnancy Center in Fort Collins.
It wasn't long until their son and daughter-in-law were blessed with a baby girl and Sue was thrilled with the opportunity to be her daytime caregiver.
Over the years in Loveland, Sue and Dick were very involved in the Larimer County Republican Party...Precinct Committee Chairs for 16 years, Sue was President of Larimer County Republican Women for 2 1/2 terms and Vice President for 2 terms, District Captain, Bonus Member on LCRP Executive Board, organized voter registration drives, and held meet and greets for county, state and congressional assemblies. She was also chairman of the LCRW Veteran's Appreciation Program, serving 4 years as Americanism Chairman for the Colorado Federation of Republican Women; while sending monthly newsletters on America's Heritage to the club president's throughout the state.
Both Dick and Sue were inducted into the Larimer County Republican Party Hall of Fame in 2017. Truly a great Honor!
Some of Sue's hobbies (when time allowed) included hiking the mountains of Colorado and bowling.
Sue and Dick were truly "Soul Mates". In their 58+ years of marriage they did everything together (except golf). Our Faith in Christ reassures us that this life is fleeting, but we will be together for Eternity in Heaven. Our daily prayer is that ALL of our wonderful family will join us someday.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents Alvan and Mildred Taylor.
She is survived by her husband Dick of 58 years, 3 sons, Don of Arkansas, Bob (Michelle) of Charleston, IL, and Tim (Kristen) of Winter Park, FL, 4 grandchildren, Maranda (Kiel) Schaljo, Chaz (Mackenzie) Moore, Quaid (Cheyenne) Moore and Shelbey (Jordan) Hernandez, 8 great grandchildren, Lincoln Moore, Patrem Schaljo, Clark Schaljo, Josephine Schaljo, Ahliilai Hernandez, Azariah Hernandez, Ryker Hernandez and Crew Moore.
A funeral service will be held February 4, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at Allnutt Funeral Service - Hunter Chapel, 2100 N. Lincoln Ave., in Loveland, with a reception immediately following the service.
