

Born November 17th, 1953, in Independence, Iowa, Wanda was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and devoted partner to Chester Thorington.
Born to Lowell D. Sauer and Geraldine L. (Morris) Sauer; she grew up on a farm in Iowa, where she developed a lifelong love for nature, animals, and the outdoors. Wanda was previously married to Tom Brady, and together they raised Sarena, Valerie, and Nick. Wanda found joy in helping others with her job as a CNA, she was extremely proud of the degree she received from Trend Business College, employment with the state of Oregon, and later working as a security officer. Later in life, Wanda met her life partner Chester, with whom she created many amazing memories through all their traveling adventures. Her happiest moments were spent hiking, traveling, and sharing time with the people she loved most.
Wanda is preceded in death by her parents. Left to cherish her memory are Chester, her life partner; daughters, Sarena Brady and Valerie (Gary) Walters; son, Nicholas Brady; 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; previous husband and friend, Tom Brady; her 4 loving sisters; Linda (Ralph) Plotz, Center Point, Iowa, Sandra Peters, Central City, Iowa, Virginia (Jerry) Burgin, Mesquite, Nevada, and Selda McDonnell, Red Lodge, Montana, and numerous nieces and nephews. Wanda also found great joy in spending time with Chet’s family, listening to family stories and reminiscing about fun times. She loved hearing about their adventures, traditions, and the bonds that shaped their lives. These moments brought Wanda much happiness, and she treasured the laughter, warmth, and sense of belonging she felt among Chet’s loved ones. Her genuine interest in their stories and her appreciation for family togetherness made her a beloved part of their lives as well.
Wanda lived a life full of love, laughter, and determination. Wanda’s legacy lives on in the warmth of the family she nurtured, the values she instilled and the love she gave so freely. Wanda had a deep love for her cherished Pomeranians, with little Emma, all holding a special place in her heart. She also shared many precious hours with her loving and devoted walking friend and neighbor, Cathy. Wanda will be remembered for her warmth, motivating words, strength, and the deep love she gave to her family and friends. Her unwavering devotion, quiet strength, and gentle, feisty spirit will continue to inspire all who knew and loved her. Though she has left this world, her presence will be felt in every shared memory, every family gathering and act of kindness passed down through generations. Her presence will be deeply missed, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
