Gertrude Josephine Cordell

Gertrude Josephine Wellde, died after a brief illness an February 4, 2015. She was born in San Francisco on January 16, 1921 to Jeanette Ross and Joseph Wellde. Gertrude was a teacher of 5th and 6th graders for Daly City School District. Gertrude met the love of her life, Archie Cordell, on Angel Island while on a blind date. They married October 17, 1942 and after 44 years in 1986 Archie died. They had four children, Mary Rose (Lawrence), William, Thomas (Linda), and Fred (Linda). They have eleven grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren. Sister Edla predeceased Gertrude as an infant. Gertrude moved to Lake County to be near her daughter and resided at Orchard Park Assisted Living for twelve years. Mom will be greatly missed by her family. On Tuesday February 10th at 11 AM there will be a Funeral Mass at Queen of the Peace Church. Interment will be later at Skylawn Memorial Park in San Mateo, California.
