Johnny was a hard working young man from his days on the farm. He started working at age 17 and continued to work diligently for many years providing for his family. He would give you the shirt off of his back.
Johnny’s life journey with Edna Patricia Day started on June 8, 1969 when they first met. After her graduation on June 10, 1969 and her 18th birthday on June 11, 1969, they married on June 17, 1969. On June 17, 2017, they have been married for 48 years.
Edna, his wife, came to admire and was proud of Johnny’s dedication to family matters.
Johnny was a San Francisco Muni bus driver when he met Edna and where he worked for 14 years. Later, Johnny and his wife relocated to Sacramento. Johnny then took a job with UC Davis as a bus driver. He was employed there until he retired in 2005.
In 2000, he (with his wife and young family) relocated to Clearlake, California and he continued to commute to his UC Davis job. It was during this time that Johnny became interested in his relationship with God, his Heavenly Father, and started studying the Bible.
When Johnny was able, his hobbies were fishing and recording music and movies to share with family and friends.
You could tell he was a farm boy as he would sit with his mother-in-law Lula Griffin, shelling his favorite food: black-eyed peas.
