Peter Thomas Hughes born on October 17, 1951 passed away peacefully at his home in Clear Lake, CA on March 15 2012. He received certificates of recognition from the Department of the Army and the American Legion.
Upon his return from the Army Peter lived in several places in the bay area but never felt more at home until he moved to Clear Lake where he had spent all of his childhood summers. During his time in Clear Lake Peter was a generous volunteer with service agencies such as the Clear Lake Community Patrol and the County Animal Emergency Care.
Peter is preceded in death by his father Scotty Hughes, his brother John, and brother-in-law John O’Reilly. He is survived by his mother Betty Hughes; brothers Michael (Teri), Paul, Stephen (Karen), Mark (Michele), and Pat (Dawn) and his sisters Mary O'Reilly-English (Dennis), and Jane White (Charlie). His humor and quick wit entertained his 17 nieces and nephews and 15 great-nieces and nephews. He was fortunate to have generous caring friends Mary, Sharon, Dutch, Denise, Kurt and Joanie. Peter believed that “memories and dreams are great things, it’s something you can always fall back on.”
