

With heavy hearts, we announce services to celebrate the life of Alan Lowell Whitebread at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. Alan passed away on Friday, June 19th, 2026.
Alan was born January 2, 1948, to Lowell and Jeanette (Tumlin) Whitebread in Dixon, IL. As a child, Alan developed a lifelong interest in philately (stamp collecting), becoming an avid collector of German stamps. He married Linda Mosier on Christmas Eve 1975 at his brother-in-law’s house in Deming, NM. Linda and Alan moved around the country before finally settling in Lubbock, TX in 1998. They enjoyed many wonderful years together in the community, celebrating their 50th anniversary with their children and grandchildren last year. Alan was known to friends and family for being loyal, knowledgeable, handy, and unfailingly honest.
Alan started teaching marketing and international business in Rawls College of Business at Texas Tech University when he moved to Lubbock, and continued teaching until he retired. For a period of time, he also served as Assistant Dean for Business Development. Prior to coming to Tech, Alan held senior executive positions with international scope in multi-billion dollar firms in the computer and plastics industries.
Alan is survived by wife Linda Whitebread; daughter Julie Korchenko; son Geoffrey Whitebread; sons-in-law Cade Korchenko and John McGeehan; grandchildren Parker and Baylee; siblings-in-law Danny and Janice Mosier, Douglas and Patricia Mosier; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, in-laws Leslie and Rodney Duke, and numerous beloved pets.
