Albert Ray Mersiovsky, 90, passed from this life on February 5, 2025 in Lubbock. Al was born on November 26, 1934 to parents Albert & Hilda Mersiovsky. He attended school in Harold, TX and then graduated from North Texas University in 1957 with a degree in Accounting. During his career, he worked for oil companies in Ft Worth, Farmington, Odessa, Midland and Lubbock.
Al was preceded in death by his wife Darleen Chapman Mersiovsky. He later remarried and was preceded in death by his wife Connie Hyatt Mersiovsky. Also preceding him in death were his parents Albert & Hilda Mersiovsky, and his sister and brother-in-law Ruby & Dick Swartz.
Al is survived by daughter Melba Parchman (Jackie); son David Mersiovsky; sister Margaret Phillips (Richard); grandson Marshall Parchman (McKenna); great grandchildren Jack, Jayton, Mason & Olivia Parchman; and special friend Sue Mooney.
He will also be missed by step-children Vanessa Hyatt & Troy Hyatt (Diana); step-grandchildren Jodi Monistere; Jeff Parchman (Shannon); Clellan Hyatt (Kelley); Leland Baker; Heather Garner (Jake); several step-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and many friends he made during his lifetime.
Al was very involved in the Family Association at the Lubbock State Supported Living Center, where his son has lived for many years. He served as President and Treasurer and dedicated many hours to the organization. He was also an active member at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Lubbock for many years.
A funeral service for Albert will be held Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 3321 33rd St., Lubbock, Texas. Following the funeral service will be a graveside committal service at 11:00 AM at Resthaven Memorial Park, 5740 19th St., Lubbock, Texas.
