

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Alberto Conejo on March 25th, 2026, at the age of 79. Alberto was born in Edinburg, Tx in 1946. The loss of his mother at the tender age of 7 deeply impacted him and his 3 younger siblings. Alberto and his sisters and brother spent their childhood in the care of their grandparents in Palo Solo ( a small village in Mexico). His ties to his brother and sisters would always be among his most
cherished and loving relationships. Alberto is survived by his sisters Rosa Rocha, America Jaramillo, and his brother Guadalupe Torres.
As a teenager Alberto returned to Texas and was later wed to Marina Conejo in 1965. In 1967 Alberto moved his small family to Lubbock Texas and began his career at Gifford Hill (later Diamond Plastics) where he remained till his retirement as plant manager in 2015. Alberto was a proud and loving father to his four children and is survived by Nelda Martinez and spouse Dionicio Martinez, Elda Ruiz and spouse Rudy Ruiz, George Conejo, and
Eddyalbert Conejo. Alberto and Marina divorced in 1995 but would remain a source of support for one another until his death.
Another chapter in Alberto's life started when he married longtime companion Andrea Conejo in 2011 and would remain married until his death. Alberto felt privileged to open his heart and embraced five stepchildren whom he cared for deeply. He is survived by
Carmen Rivera and spouse Richard Rivera, Ester Martinez, Linda Bustos and spouse Ray, Jesus Rodriguez Jr, Daniel Rodriguez and spouse Stefannie Rodriguez.
Alberto is also mourned and survived by eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one great great grandchild, eleven step-grandchildren, twenty-seven step great grandchildren and seven step great great grandchildren.
In 2019 Alberto's family would continue to grow as he embraced his previously unknown sisters. He grew to deeply care for and is survived by Mary Rendon, Gilda Romero, Connie Bermudaz, Yolanda Rendon, and Martha Prieto.
During his full and interesting life Alberto enjoyed singing, playing guitar, raising cattle, farming, and spending time with all his loved ones. He will be remembered for his intense love, infectious laughter, hard work ethic and his charming and charismatic way.
