Angelita Ybarra Florez, 86, passed peacefully on Saturday October 4, 2014. Angelita Florez simply known as” MOMMA” not only to her twelve children, but many others who knew her dearly. Her unconditional love for her family and her faith in God were the cornerstone of her life. Momma was a simple woman but was the absolute pillar of her loving family, she had simple pleasures and enjoyed the silly moments in life. For you who knew Momma she had her ways of showing her love and support and especially making sure no one left the house on an empty stomach. Momma treasured many things in her life but when it came to her Texas Tech Red Raiders there was no messing with her team, even to the point of having a gazebo built and painted Black and Scarlet in her back yard so we could watch and yell for her Red Raiders.
Just a side note Coach Kingsbury sent her autograph picture, so ladies don’t hate.
Angelita was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband Ramon Florez; brother, Theodoro Ybarra.
Angelita Florez is survived by her 12 children, Linda and Jimmy Chacon, Eloy and Peggy Florez, Gloria and Richard Sifuentes, Ruben and Esmerelda Flores, Ortensia and Ernest Saldivar, Raymond Nonato Florez, Sylvia and Raul Sanchez, Yolanda and Kevin Hayes, Hector and Maria Elena Florez, Elisa and Richard Barnett, Paul and Virginia Florez, and Armando Florez; five sisters, Martha, Helen, Sally Ybarra, Mary Vigil, Valentina Martinez; and three brothers Philip, Lee, and Domingo Ybarra. She is also survived by 34 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandchild.
