Ann Gibson Reynolds, dear friend, sister, and faithful servant of God, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2025, in Lubbock, Texas, at the age of 81, following a brief and unexpected battle with cancer.
Ann was born the youngest of six children on July 24, 1944, in Carlsbad, New Mexico, to James “Si” and Ruth Gibson. Ann was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Mary Kepner, Betty Scott, and Margaret “Peggy” Gibson, and brother Jim Gibson. She is survived by her brother Howell “Barclay” Gibson and wife Jan, of Weatherford, Texas.
Ann grew up in Carlsbad, NM and graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1962. She attended New Mexico State University.
Ann spent most of her adult life in Lubbock, Texas. She retired from American State Bank in 2010. During her years there, she formed lifelong friendships and was known for her kindness, warmth, and quick sense of humor that made her a joy to be around.
Ann was an avid reader, enjoyed sewing, and was a lover of all things feline from a very young age. She could never turn away a hungry, cold, or lonely cat, caring for many over the years. Little Girl, Puddin’ and Smoke had a very special place in her heart.
Among some of Ann’s finest qualities was her sharp wit, quick comebacks, and banter with her closest friends, who already miss her deeply. Her smile was infectious and her hugs were coveted.
Above all, Ann’s faith was at the center of who she was. She was an active and cherished member of Hub City Church of Christ. She rarely missed a worship service or Bible class until her recent illness. God and her brothers and sisters in Christ were the center of her world. She leaves behind countless friends who will forever hold her memory close.
A memorial service will take place on Friday, December 12, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home, 5740 19th Street, Lubbock, Texas 79407
