Antonio (Popo) L. Salas, Sr., 94, passed away at his home surrounded by loved ones at his bedside in Lubbock, Texas.

He was born May 10, 1926 in Leming, Texas to Lazaro and Santiaga Longoria Salas.

Antonio married Candelaria M. Salas in 1948 in Corpus Christi, Texas Antonio and Candelaria moved to Levelland in 1965

He worked farm labor for 38 years. Antonio retired in 2003 then moved to Lubbock, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents Lazaro and Santiaga Salas, two brothers and 4 sisters also 4 sons, Tony Jr.; Ruben; Richard Sr. and Johnny Salas Sr.

He is Survived by his wife of 72 Years Candelaria Salas of Lubbock; brother, Cornelio M. Salas, 6 daughters Rosa (Jesse) Guzman, Yolanda Guerrero, Aurora Chapa, Lucy (Steve) Duff, Norma (Juan) Olivares and Bonny Salas. And 23 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.

Sorry for your loss , our prayers are with ya'll . We had great memories, when we would go see him and his family at the ranch. Sorry for your loss my family and cousins
. My Tio tony always made my day every time i visit him in Lubbock at there house and Norma house. Good memory since we were small . Always love going to the farm and pick yellow mellons . Good family gathering . Last time I visit him in his chair right by the front door . Tio what are you doing oh watching to see who goes by. always kidding maybe my girlfriend and her dog. My tia would say don't listen to him . Always joking and that smile he would have and the look he give my my tia. Going to miss him and I know my tia too. The love of her life. Still strong at there age. I love seeing that. Weclome home dad ,his boys men are waiting for him in heaven.

Antonio Salas was my uncle , my mother’s brother.Have many precious memories when growing up of my cousins Tony , Ruben ,Riche, Johnny, Rosa, Gori, Norma , Yolanda ,Lucy and Tio Tony and Tia Cande. Great memories.The years have really passed us by very rapidly. I will not be able to go and say good bye to my uncle but his parting is heartfelt. My love to all my cousins and Tia Cande.1 956 398 1857.
