

December 14, 2020. He was born November 15, 1949 in Alice, Texas to Armando Gonzalez Sr.
and Maria Luisa Alegria
Armando was a proud American Soldier, serving in the United States Army as an O5C20
Radio TT Operator, stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado, For his service in Germany and one
tour in Vietnam. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal
w/2 bronze stars, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal w/60 device. Armando was Honorably
discharged as a SP4 April 15,1970. After his service to our country he went into facility
management until his retirement in 2000.
Armando moved to Lubbock, Texas in 1988 where he met his beloved wife Tina
Miranda. His hobbies included dancing, traveling, bingo, and spoiling his grandchildren.
Armando was an amazing Husband, Father, and Pawpaw, he had a contagious smile that lit up
the room, he was the best storyteller ever.
His family meant the world to him, Armando was extremely proud of his children and
grand-children, he is survived by his wife of 32 years Tina Miranda Gonzalez; 5 daughters:
Rosario and Nancy Gonzalez both of Abilene, Texas, Jessica (Brian) Hernandez, Jennifer
Mosqueda, Selena (Luke Elshant) Gonzalez all of Lubbock, Texas; 2 sons: Ramiro Alafa of
Lubbock, Texas, Isaiah Gonzalez of Fort Riley, Kansas; 19 grandchildren, 17 great
grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren, and his sister Nelida Gonzalez of San Antonio,
and countless nieces and nephews whom he adored so much.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Mother, and brother Reynaldo Orona.
A Visitation for Armando will be held Saturday, December 26, from 11:00AM to 1:00PM in the Resthaven Abbey Chapel, Rosary will begin at 1:00PM – 2:00PM, and Chapel Service will begin at 2:00PM.
