Barbara June Blanchard

Barbara June Blanchard (Hastey), 81, of Lubbock, Texas went to be with her Lord Jesus on April 16, 2014. She was born in Quitaque, Texas on April 25, 1932 to Sam Ennis Hastey and Easter Elizabeth Guffey. She married C.H “Choc” Blanchard on March 27, 1947 and was blessed with 4 sons. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Choc and her sisters Jane, Mae and nephew Douglas. She is survived by her brother Joe Hastey of Sweetwater, Texas, her 4 sons, Larry and wife Karen of Alpharetta, Georgia, Layne and wife Bonnie of San Antonio, Texas, Lyle and wife Myrna of Ft Worth, Texas and Lance Blanchard. 13 grandchildren loved her as “maw maw”, Brandon, Stephanie, Clint, Sarah, Meagan, Heather, Chelsea, Rebekah, Eric, Arwen, Mia, Paul and Cruz. She also had 3 great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Eva and Sterling. She will also be missed by her loving nieces Jeanette Pettigrew, Brenda Boydston, Donna Kinsey, Rhonda Robinson, Billie Haynes and Marybeth Hunt; nephews Perry Harrison and Sammy and Kelly Hastey, as well as her life-long friends Leonard and Cleta Husted. June was loved and cherished by all who knew her. She spent a long career in PBX before moving on to Banking. After retiring she enjoyed Bingo, Judge Joe Brown and visiting her many family and friends. Services are being held at Resthaven Funeral Home’s Abbey Chapel in Lubbock.
