Bertha Mattie Wood

Bertha was born on October 19, 1924 in Oklahoma. In 1942 she married Sterling “June” Wood and the couple had two children, Gary and Donna. She lived most of her life in Lubbock, until moving closer to her family in Arlington two years ago. She lived a joyful life and had a strong faith in God.

She recently celebrated her 90th birthday with friends and family at her side. Bertha will be remembered for her strong will, sense of humor and dedication to family and faith. Granny, as she was affectionately known by her grandkids and great-grandkids, will be surely missed by all who knew her and yet we are enriched by the many lasting memories she made.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Donna Ward and husband Paul; daughter in law Linda Wood; grandchildren, Kiffany Landress and husband Jeff, Jeff Ward and wife Bridgett; great-grandchildren, Marley and Maddox Landress, Ruby and Brooks Ward.

Visitation will be Sunday November 23, 2014 at Resthaven Funeral Home from 4 to 6 pm. Funeral services will be Monday November 24 at Resthaven Funeral Home’s Abbey Chapel at 1 pm follow by interment in Resthaven Memorial Park. Condolences may be offered at www.resthavenfuneralhome.com
