

The family of Betty Barnett will celebrate her life of 88 years at 2:30 PM on Monday, March 15, 2021, at the City of Levelland Cemetery. Her family will host a time of fellowship and remembrance from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM, Sunday, March 14, 2021, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. She passed on Thursday, March 11, 2021. She grew up in Levelland, TX, and graduated from Levelland High School in 1949 and later South Plains College. She married Tom Alexander of Levelland, and they had two sons, Greg and Steve. She later married W.K. “Bill” Barnett, and they moved from Levelland to Lubbock, TX, where she resided until her death. Betty was a member of First Baptist Church of Lubbock, where she was a member of the Joy Sunday School class.She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, 1 sister, and her husband, Bill, who passed away November 7, 2005.Survivors include her sons, Steve Alexander (Jan) of Lubbock, Greg Alexander of Plano, and step-son, Ken Barnett (Gwen) of Van Alstyne; grandchildren, Craig Alexander (Kristi Hesco) of Colleyville, Eric Alexander of Dallas, Leigh Alexander (fiancé-Corey Giammarco) of Fort Worth, Aimee Harwood (Chris) of Dallas, Austin Alexander of Plano, and Zach Alexander of Rockwall; step-grandchildren, Kenneth Barnett and Drew Barnett of the DFW area. She also leaves behind 3 great-grandsons, Weston, Max, and Knox.The family wishes to thank the staff of Brookdale Remington Park, where she spent the last 4.5 years of her life, for the loving care they provided to her. And also to Hospice of Lubbock for their care and support in her final months.
