Betty Lowetta Clawson

She was born September 20, 1924 in Amarillo, Texas to Earl Ince, Sr. and Lucy Davis Ince. Betty was one of 10 children born to Earl, Sr. and Lucy. Betty was a graduate of Lubbock High School. She married Pink L. Parrish, Jr. of Lubbock and later Jan Clawson of Irving, both of whom preceded her in death. Betty had one son, Danny E. Parrish, who preceded her in death in 1976.

Betty loved to cook, tell funny stories, listen to gospel and country music, and be with her family. She especially loved Ince family reunions.

She is survived by her brother, Gerald Ince; her grandson, Ashley Parrish; her granddaughter Angela Cherry; her great grandchildren, Brooke Cherry, Emily Parrish, John Keeton Parrish and Ellory Cherry; and numerous nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her brothers, Earl Ince, Jr., David Ince, Jerry Ince and Carl Ince, and her sisters Justine Kerr, Jewel Smith, LaJuanah Taylor, and Judy Ince .

A memorial service to celebrate Betty’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 10, 2026, at First Christian Church in Lubbock. Betty will be laid to rest at City of Lubbock Cemetery on Tuesday, August 11, 2026.
