Betty was born in New Mexico to Raymond and Neva Lee Appleton and married Jimmy Berryhill in the summer of 1952. They had three children, Jamie, Mark and Nancy. They were married forty seven years at the time of his death.
Betty and Jimmy were co-owners of Berryhill’s for Children and Betty’s Fashions where she thoroughly enjoyed helping shoppers find their heart’s desires.
After Jimmy passed away, Betty met and married Donald Searsy and is survived by her husband, Donald; children: Jamie and wife Renda, Mark, Nancy and husband, James Halfacre, Dina Berryhill Boston; Donald’s daughter, Paula and husband, Paul Verstegen; twelve grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren; two sisters, Wanda Jean of Alabama and Lenora Appleton Huron of Florida. Betty was blessed with nieces and nephews that were also very much a part of her life.
Loving Jesus, His Church and all people was her passion. Betty was loved and appreciated by many as she truly had a desire to share the love of Christ and her hope in Him with others.
Betty was an incredible wife and mother that loved life and laughter. She was a relentless fighter in every way, even to her last breath. Betty had a competitive nature only her family could understand. She loved games, but mainly “winning.”
Endearingly called Momo by her grand and great grandchildren, her fun loving ways and her famous chocolate cake and delectable fudge were favorites of all.
Betty Berryhill Searsy was an amazing woman that will be missed by all that knew her.
