Bettye C Rogers, 78, passed away Wednesday May 29, 2013. She was born November 4, 1934 in Carthage, Tennessee to Earl and Mary Ann Underwood. Bettye had a PhD in Education and was a Professor at Texas Tech for 18 years in the Education Department. She wrote several articles for different magazines and a book for the Smithsonian Institute. Bettye loved to travel extensively, having traveled to all seven continents and was very artistic. She enjoyed her pets and the wild life in Ransom Canyon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and daughter, Mary Madden.
She is survived by her son, Ralph Johnson; two granddaughters, Allison Moody of Austin and Valerie Pelham of Houston; two great grandchildren, Jacob Pelham and Stephanie Moody.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at 1:00 pm in Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel.
