

Billy Jack Dunlap, 74, born in Wellington, TX December 13, 1936, passed away September 23, 2011 at VistaCare Hospice in the Carillon House in Lubbock. He was born to Theodore and Tishie Dunlap and graduated from Tahoka High School in Tahoka, TX. He married Patsy Roberts in Tahoka, TX on July 12, 1956 and moved to Lubbock, TX in 1971 to make their final home. Bill retired from Lubbock Coca Cola in 1999 after 30 years of service. Bill was a deacon at Redbud Baptist Church and a Past Master of Tahoka Masonic Lodge.
Bill is survived by wife Patsy Dunlap, daughter-in-law Jerri Beth Dunlap of Lubbock, son Jack and his wife DeAnn Dunlap of Lubbock and son Mark and his wife Sheridan Dunlap of Dallas. His grandchildren are Justin Dunlap, Brett Dunlap, Becky Russom, Lacey Dunlap, Krista Rodriquez, Tyler Dunlap and Sheridan Kay Dunlap. His great grandchildren are Mackenzie Carroll and Kayleigh Russom, along with a host of nieces and nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by son Carl Wayne Dunlap, grandson Truitt Strickland Dunlap, parents Theodore and Tishie Dunlap, sister Irene Aycock and brothers Bob, Gene and T. D. Dunlap.
Faith, family and laughter were all very important parts of Bill’s life. He was a proud Christian, as well as a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was on a first name basis with all players for the Cowboys and Texas Rangers, and appreciated a great game of 42. The holidays and the annual family vacation in the mountains were some of his most cherished moments.
Services will be held 2:00 pm Monday, September 26, 2011 at Redbud Baptist Church in Lubbock. Burial ceremony will immediately follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Lubbock. Visitation will take place on Sunday from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at Resthaven Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to Carillon VistaCare in Lubbock Texas.
