

Billie Estelle Horne, 83, of Lubbock, Texas, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. She was born on October 27, 1942, in Midland, Texas to Harry Hedges and Cora Lisenbee.
Affectionately known as Mimi, she was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose greatest joy was time spent with family. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and love of creating lasting memories.
A lifelong learner, Billie earned her degree and enjoyed a long career at Texas Instruments and X-Fab. She and her late husband, Tommy, shared a passion for antiques, operating their own store in Lubbock for many years. Her expertise led her to serve as a judge at the Lubbock State Fair for many years.
Billie loved gardening, winning awards for her flowers, and together with Tommy, ran a greenhouse that supplied local grocers. She was an accomplished artist, creating beautiful paintings and pottery, and delighted in sharing her talents with others.
She is survived by her children Connie Pettit, Michael Horne, and Melissa Rutledge (Robert); grandchildren Gary Pettit, Kasey Pettit, Reagan Rutledge, Ryan Rutledge, and Rachel Rutledge; and great-grandchildren Moiya, Mars, and Zoe. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Lynn Hedges, and her beloved husband, Thomas Clarence Horne III.
The graveside funeral will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home in Lubbock, Texas on Monday, December 1 at 10am. Visitation and Funeral details will be available on their website.
