1936 in Morton, Texas to the late Millard and Buna (McCallon) Wilkison. Growing up in
Lubbock, he graduated from Lubbock High School and attended Texas Tech.
He married his high school sweetheart, Ellenor (Langston), and they resided in Lubbock for many years. With the advent of grandchildren, they moved to the Houston area in 2002.
Bill worked as a personnel director and warehouse vice-president, but his favorite job was running his own personnel agency, New Beginnings. Bill enjoyed helping people, and this role allowed him to do that and make a difference in the lives of others. Bill also enjoyed traveling, square-dancing, and spending time with his grandkids. Despite many health challenges over the years, “Mr. Bill” always retained his sense of humor. He also developed a deep faith which he shared with others as well.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Ellenor; his daughter, Kelley Owens and husband, Eric; precious grandchildren, Garrett and Erica; and his beloved brother, Don Wilkison of Lubbock, and his family. In addition, Bill is survived by many in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
A memorial service for Bill will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Resthaven Funeral Home -Abbey Chapel, 5740 West 19th St. in Lubbock, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Bill’s name to the American Stroke Foundation or to a charity of your choice.
