B.J. Marlin Petty

Services for BJ Petty 34 of Lubbock will be Friday September 9, 2011 at 1:00 pm at Resthaven Chapel of Resthaven Funeral Home of Lubbock. Services will be under the direction of Dr. Braken Christen, Pastor of Harvest Church. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Resthaven.

He died Saturday September 3, 2011 in Galveston, Texas. He was born in Lubbock, Texas to Robert Edward Petty and Patricia Ann Petty.

BJ accomplished and endured many things during his life time on this earth. A favorite scripture of his was

Gal 2:20 "I am crucified with Christ; none the less I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” Another favorite scripture was 2 Corinthians 5:8, “We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.”

Survivors include his mother Patricia A. Petty, his father Robert E. Petty, his stepmother Tricia Petty all of Lubbock. His siblings Holly Gonzales, Layla Petty, Shelby Jones, and Chloe Jones all of Lubbock. Grandfather Wilbert Nelms of Lubbock, Grandmother Ann Warfield Ft Worth Texas. And host of aunts and uncles as well as cousins.
