The family had a private time of fellowship and remembrance from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Wednesday, April 8, 2020, at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers. A service is planned for a future date when the restrictions are lifted at Lake Ridge Chapel.Bob Wayne Young grew up in a large ranching family from Canadian Texas, and family was what he loved most. After marrying his wife of 50 years, Valerie Chandler Young, he attended West Texas State University. Bob graduated with a Master’s in History. After graduating, he moved his budding family to Lubbock, Texas, where he built a successful family business: repairing cars. His company, Hub City Body Works, became a lifelong application of his blood, sweat, tears, and unwavering, rock-solid faith. He pursued lifelong hobbies of collecting cars, with several nationally recognized acquisitions, loved to fish and hunt (not always well), steadfast traditions of breakfasts and home-cooked meals with his Kids, and a love for the Lord and His Word. Bob always loved his family, was a best friend, comfortable companion, the true love of his wife, her forever husband, and never made anyone he ever met feel small. His heart engulfed us all in its arms and sought to provide what he could, no matter if it was the last of what he had, a kind word, or simply a hug and handshake. He is loved by all that ever had a word from him and any that knew him in the brief time he was with us.Survivors include his wife, Valerie Young; daughter, Mercedees Young, and husband, Marc Lambright; four grandchildren, Hunter Bob Young, Chevy Thomas Lee Cawlfield, and wife, Meagan; Derek Houston Lambright and wife, Bianca; and Maegan K.
