Brandon Heath Bennett

Brandon was born February 27, 1973, in Lubbock, Texas, the son of Gary and Candie Bennett. From an early age, Brandon possessed the larger-than-life spirit, natural ability, and love for people that would characterize his life.

He graduated from Frenship High School in 1991, where he was an outstanding athlete and earned All-State recognition for his athletic accomplishments. He went on to attend Lubbock Christian University, South Plains College, and Texas Tech University, where he studied business.

Brandon began his professional career working in investments before finding his stride in oil and gas sales. His natural ability to connect with people served him well throughout his career, and he continued working in the oil and gas industry until his passing.

In 2013, Brandon reconnected with the love of his life, Patricia “Trish” Virgili. Of all the things Brandon loved and accomplished in his lifetime, nothing compared to his love for his family — particularly his two children, Harrison and Ella Grace. He was a devoted and wonderful father, and one of his greatest joys was watching his children play tennis. He was immensely proud of them and treasured the time he spent with them. An avid outdoorsman, Brandon loved hunting and the outdoors. His adventures earned him recognition for remarkable hunting accomplishments, including a record deer in Spur, Texas, and an exceptionally large black bear in New Mexico. The outdoors was a place where Brandon found both adventure and enjoyment, and it remained an important part of his life.

Yet those who knew Brandon best will tell you that his accomplishments were never what defined him.

Brandon will be remembered most for the way he loved people.

As one person who loved him so beautifully said, “Brandon was a truly beautiful soul who always made people feel seen and valued when he spoke to them.” His easy, ever-present smile, genuine joy for others, and eagerness to help anyone in need were simply part of who Brandon was.

He had a gift for making people feel important. He celebrated the people he loved, showed up for his family and friends, and gave generously of himself. His joy and devotion to those around him created a legacy that will live on in the hearts of the many people fortunate enough to have known and loved him.

Brandon was preceded in death by his biological mother, Debbie Bennett, and his beloved grandparents.

Left to cherish his memory are his son, Harrison Bennett; his daughter, Ella Grace Bennett; the love of his life, Patricia “Trish” Virgili; his parents, Gary and Candie Bennett; his siblings, Bryan Bennett and wife Emily, Bryce Bennett, and Brittney Bennett Richards and husband Zach; his niece, Annabelle Bennett; his nephew, Beau Bennett; his aunts, Vickie Copeland and DeAnn “Dee Dee” Young and husband Ken; his uncle, Ricky Bennett; and numerous cousins whom he loved dearly.

Brandon is also lovingly remembered by Trish’s daughter, Tori Fulton and husband Tyler, and their children, Turner and Truitt, all of Lubbock; Trish’s son, Noah Virgili, and his son, Ezra; and a multitude of friends whom Brandon dearly loved.

Brandon loved deeply, laughed easily, and brought joy with him wherever he went. His greatest legacy will not be measured by the things he accomplished, but by the people he loved, the lives he touched, and the countless people who walked away from an encounter with Brandon feeling a little more seen and a little more valued.

He will be deeply and forever missed.

A private family burial will be held, with a Celebration of Life to follow at a later date.
