

Carla Tull of Lubbock, TX passed away at the age of 78, on November 13, 2025. Carla was born on March 3, 1947, in Amherst, TX. She graduated from Muleshoe High School in 1965 and went on to attend South Plains College where she was a member of the Phi Beta Lambda Sorority. At the age of 19, she left college to work for the Federal Government. She had various administrative roles with the Federal Government, the majority being with the National Weather Service of Lubbock. She retired from the National Weather Service and worked for Delta Water Labs as the Co-Owner and CEO until selling the business and officially retiring in 2013.
Carla had two children Monica Franklin and Matthew Minssen.

Their children; Stetson McNutt and his wife Helana of Lubbock. Dillan Allen and his partner Sally Palcios of Lubbock. Mikena Allen-Sanchez and her husband JoeAngel Sanchez of Lubbock and their children JoeMichael Allen Sanchez and Baby Nova of Lubbock.
Collin, Brooks and Ryder Franklin of Lubbock.
Matthew Minssen and his wife Jenn Lind of Portland, Oregon.
Their children; Isaac Minssen and Fletcher Lind of Portland, Oregon
Carla is survived by two brothers: Dwayne Keith West of Olton, TX and Kenneth Cole and his wife Nina of Amarillo, TX.
Carla was preceded in Death by her Mother Myrtle Florene (Rene) Cole of Sudan, TX and her husband George Tull III of Lubbock, TX.
Carla loved her family dearly. She always said she was too young to be a grandma, so when her first grandchild was born, she asked to be called “Sweety” which stuck with her through all her grandchildren and now great-grandchildren.
Carla loved to travel. She visited every state in the United States, took several trips to Europe and lived in Germany for two years. She attended the Olympics in China and enjoyed several cruises including one to Alaska. Carla was a member of and served in various leadership roles with the West Texas Chapter of Better Investors.
Carla had an unmatched love for life, and her kindness and independent nature will shine on through those that she has left behind. Carla was strong in her faith in the Lord and is no longer in pain, but dancing with George and playing Yahtzee with her mom in heaven.
A Celebration of Life for Carla will be held on Friday, November 21st, at 2pm at Lakeridge Memorial Chapel in Lubbock, TX where family and friends will gather and honor the amazing life that she lived.
