Cathryn Strawn

She was born September 13, 2013 to H.L. and Frieda Gentry. She graduated Shallowater High School where she spotted the love of her life, AJ Strawn. They married September 27, 1939 and celebrated 64 years together. Cathryn had a passion for volunteering and giving back to the community. Her pride was in the Methodist Hospital gift shop and Board of Trustee position. She received a pin for 21,000 + hours as a volunteer at the hospital. She also served on the board of the YMCA and a member of the PEO womens organization. Cathryn and AJ were life time members of St. Luke’s Methodist Church.

She is survived by brother Kent Gentry and wife Juanette; sons Ronald Staewn and wife Shirley, Kenneth Strawn and wife Rose Ann; one daughter Bonnie Bourland. Grandma was loved by six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 29, 2013 in Resthaven Memorial Park.
