Dearest Lovell family, I was so saddened to hear of Charles' passing.  I have such fond childhood memories with yall's family:  the first moon walk gathering at your house, camping and fishing trips, and our beloved trip to Mackinac Island!  Wouldn't it have been so nice to have cell phones on that trip?  Do you remember how many times Daddy and Charles were in the truck camper and Mom and Nanilea were in the car and we would invariably get separated in just about every major city we passed through!! Well as y'all know, I am pleased to know the Lovellrama clan since 1992.  I am glad I got to see Charles on a good day a few weeks ago enjoying a Five Guys Burger and fries with Lori my longtime BFF.  It was good to see him.  I have spent many holidays with the Lovells-Owens-faulkners.  They are my Lubbock family. My love to all of you.  Peace and comfort for the days to come sent your way.

I have many great memories of Charlie but the most recent favorite is when I played golf with my dad, Jimmy May and Charlie. We were getting ready to Tee off on hole # 1 and while waiting for the group ahead to get off the green, Charlie asked me "Stacey where is our flag?"
I pointed about 300 yards away I said "there's the flag." Charlie turned looked at me and said 
" Thanks I didn't want to miss it"
I thought Oh ok makes sense, don't want to over shoot the target. Charlie approached the ball lined up and swing! Charlie made contact and the golf ball went up in the air and landed 50 yards away! My dad started laughing Charlie was laughing. It took me a minute and I started laughing.amd from that moment on and every hole we had a fun fun day of golf that I will always remember.

Certainly a sad day to hear of Charlies passing. Will always count him a "dear friend". Though I had not seen him in almost 20 years, the fun times we shared will never be forgotten. God be with the family in this time of sorrow, and thank God we were privileged to have known and loved him.

A heartbreaking bit of news of a friend and colleague for forty years. Those were a great forty years knowing and calling Charles a friend, and have giving me the great fortune of being able to call a couple of members of the next generation (Vicki and Paul) truly great friends.
