I just saw that Charlie passed away.  My heart is heavy and I pray for his family.

Well, little man...there's been some hard times and some goods times since I was here last. I know you already know, but I need to say it...OK? Your family and friends go on through each day, making the best of them. Me? I mourn the loss of too many years when you were growing up and I wasn't around much. I'm not going to say anymore about that...you already know all there is to know. You were my little genius grandson that could spell "Walthall" without even thinking about it, and you were just a little guy. Please stay close, Charlie. Give me another chance to be your Granmama. I want you to know that I have always loved you.

Hey you...don't think you're gonna get off that easy. I need to talk sometimes, so lend an ear,ok? Cheryl posted a beautiful picture of you and her on FB. She was wishing you a Happy Valentine's Day. Wasn't it great! I know you're OK Charlie, just stay close to your family. They're missing you something awful and need to feel you near, especially your Daddy..or Dad. Sorry...I forgot your all grown up. 

Guess you know that Whitney Houston passed. I have no idea how this stuff works in the spirit world, but I think you should look her up. Throw some guitar strumming on her and I bet you'll end up in a duo. Yes I know, she's as beautiful as her voice. 

I'll be back soon and talk some more. I'd love to see you flitting around this world spreading your music and loving it.

Hey Charlie...I haven't been back to Resthaven since your funeral. I'm coming out next week. I know I'm weird, I just have a hard time with visiting someone at a cemetary. Which is silly...you, Mama and Daddy and many more are all kicking it and having a great time. I don't know if you have a guitar with you or if Daddy has a piano, but if you do, ask Mama or Daddy to play a duo with you. Mama can play a great boogie-woogie, you think the keys are going melt. Daddy's talent leans more toward gospel music, but he'd love you to jump in and play & sing...I have great memories of my parents playing and singing. Please keep close tabs on your family...especially Edie. Bless her heart. She doesn't quite get it. Just hold her hand and help her through this. OK little man...I will be back to talk again soon. I'll love you to the end...

Charlie my man...I visit this website many times a day. I try not to gush all over you, but sometimes I just have to talk. As you can see, Charlie, you are loved way beyond the norm. I mean, you've got young people on here sharing feelings they normally wouldn't want anyone to know about. Yep...the mushy stuff. You ARE loved. I know you're happy, but wouldn't it be a kick if you could answer back. Guess that's just one of the many things that make this so hard for all of us here. In my mind you're keeping tabs on us, and I like that. So I'm just gonna keep on believing. I'll be back to talk again. I'll love you til the end, Charlie.

You were my closest cousin growing up i will never forget hanging out with you at granddaddys. IGrowing up i looked up to yyou so much and wanted to be like you and  i thought  you were the coolest. I  miss how we would wrestle in D'ann and davids room or play football, or wrestle grandaddy. Or play football on the floor. Your music will never be forgotten Charlie. I will isten to it everyday and remember. When you lived out here in McAdoo i wish we could have hung out more but the time we did we had the best time, to throwing the frisbee to lighting fire crackers. Or playing MArio Crash Kart. I miss you and love you so much it is unexplainable. I just want you back here, you were do young, but hey stuff happens and you went with the flow of that. During the viewing i did not want you to be gone i just did not want to beleive it but hey, you up there rockin the guitar with the big "J". I remember when we all went to Lampassas to D'ann and Davids and me and you rode the four wheelers and went and walked down in the creek to talk about stuff. When i went to the funeral i was tempted to wear and Nirvana t shirt and some brown pants;) but you know how my mom is. It was a definite honor carrying your sweet body and putting my rose on the casket, now i know i left something there for you. Look after Grace and Edie and your parents because they loved you so much,and they will need it. I know your life was just about to get better an dit was awesome for you. You gave me a huge perspective on life and how soon it can end and how soon you can lose the ones you love. You taught me to live my life to the fullest and that is what i will do. Your songs were awesome to. Well i will be seeing ya when he lets me... Love ya

Wow, I'm at a loss. You are my son that I didn't have, but every day wished I did. I love how we had an unspoken bond. I will always cherish the memories that we made. From the softball trips...rockin out in the car...playing dress up...to the last text & phone conversation I had with you...and everything between. I'm happy that the last thing we said to each other was I love you. I'm glad that I told you that I was proud of you. I had so much more to tell you, but now you truly know what's always been in my heart. I miss you Charlie.

Charlie...it's me again. I've been trying to stay busy today, and have done pretty good. But ever so often your name pops up in my head and then it's hard to breath. Your music was beautiful yesterday. Hearing your voice was hard on everyone there, but wonderful at the same time. You know, music can be a memory maker and a heart breaker. Many times one sort of calls for the other...does that make sense? Love you little man...we'll talk again soon.

Charlie,  You were the first of my many siblings and my only brother.  You were a good one.  I loved laughing with you and making fun of people as well as each other.  I'm so thankful I got to see you Christmas Eve, but I wish it was for a longer visit.  I took it for granted that I would see you again.  But I know in my heart, I will see you again one day.  I know you are so happy in heaven and free of all the burdens life handed you. It is hard for me to let you go, but I know you are finally at peace.  I love you so much. I'm so proud of the man you became, and I am so happy that I got to be a part of your life.

I had Charlie as a third grade student and possibly as a preschool student, I can't remember.  Charlie had a great spirit.  He was loved by many friends. Heaven is a little richer with Charlie.I was so priviliged to have had the gift of Charlie in my life.

  At times such as this it's hard to know what to say Charlie, but I will try. 
  You always brought such great energy and made work enjoyable.  Our group of employees in lumber at Sutherlands was almost like a little family and we were blessed to have had you be a part of that.  You would always give a "whoo" when things got busy and the situation called for some hustling.   Every time it was heard there would always be another voice an aisle or two over responding with the same. Even after you left our little family in lumber you were missed and the "whoo" lived on. May your body rest in peace Charlie Ewing because your spirit lives on with every "whoo" yelled at Sutherlands while working the lumber aisles.  Your spirit will always be with us Charlie and we feel fortunate to have had you be a part of our lives.

Hey Charlie...just need to talk for a minute. I know you're fine. Getting a band together by now. You have so many there with you that would love to have you on guitar. You are going to LOVE it. Everyone here of course misses you so much. The air is thick with the pain of your loss. But knowing that you're OK makes me feel so much better. I just wish I could have gotten one more hug. Watch over all of us. We love you so much.

I'll always remember Charlie as being a good and kind and loving person.  Arapaho Indian lore says that when one person dies, the whole world changes, and certainly the world won't be the same without Charlie Ewing!  I loved him and mourn for the loss of his young life.

I don't even know where to begin. I can't even imagine living my life without you. You've been by my side since the day I was born. We grew up together and it tears me to know we won't continue to grow together. The thing I remember most about you is how you constantly did everything you could to get on my nerves. But what else are brothers for? Congrats, you were very successful at it. I wish I could go back to when we played barbies together or, in your words, "action figures". I wish we could go back to playing the Nintendo together nonstop all day long. I wish we could go back to recording our In The Cold, Cold Night cover by The White Stripes, no matter how terrible we sounded. I wish we could go back to the Smashing Pumpkin softball days. I wish we could go back to playing "pirates" in the backyard. I wish we could go back to those nights when we had nothing else to do but find a movie to watch together. I wish we could go back to when we'd introduce each other to certain songs we just discovered. I wish we could go back to just blasting music throughout the house when we were there alone and sing as loud as we could. I wish we could go back to those moments when we had heartfelt conversations for hours, concluding each one with "you can always talk to me." I wish I could see you again, just one more time, so I can hug you and tell you how much you mean to me. I wish I could hear your voice one more time. I can't tell you how many times I've listened to the last voicemail you left me when I missed your call. I hate that you passed an exact month after my birthday. I hate that you passed an exact month after the last time we talked. I love that the last thing we said to each other was "I love you." I hate that the last time I saw you, you were unable to say it back but I know that you were still with us. You always will be. You impacted so many lives and we will always love and miss everything about you. Rest in peace Charlie. Have fun rockin out with Kurt. I love you. Always. I'll be seeing you.

I am an All Saints classmate of Charlie when we were in the same class for three years. I remember walking around in a dragon costume during Chinese New Year and the wig that Charlie wore for President's day when all of us dressed up like former presidents.  Where as Charlie looked spiffy in his period costume, I looked strange as an Asian Richard Nixon.  I am very sad to hear about Charlie.  I'm currently in California, but I'll be sending my thoughts towards Charlie's family.

I am deeply saddened to learn of Charlie's death. He was a bright young man, a good guitar player, and his death is a loss for us all.  I am praying for all of you, his family and friends, this week.  I wish I could be there for his funeral.
