CB “Jack” McNeely, of Lubbock, Texas died peacefully June 29, 2015. Born in Hawley County, Texas on March 31, 1921, he was the son of Benjamin Franklin McNeely and Florida Belle (Hendrix) McNeely. He married his wife, Dixie (Choate) McNeely, in 1941; a marriage that lasted until her death in 2012. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps in 1942, eventually going to the Philippines. When the war was over, he returned to Lubbock, initially working for Lubbock Automotive and later being the owner and operator of McNeely Auto Service until his retirement in 1998.
In 1952, he and Dixie adopted their only child, Kyle McNeely. Jack was the ultimate family man. He spent his life always trying to do everything he could for all of his family and for all those around him. Jack was a loving husband, dad, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and repairman, all wrapped up in a shy, unassuming, and very humble Christian man. He had a great sense of humor and was so fun to be with during family times and gatherings.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Dixie, his brothers Sammy and Marion, and his sister Betty Jo.
He is survived by his son, Kyle McNeely and his wife Karen; a grandson, Justin McNeely; a granddaughter, Tara McNeely Clinton and her husband Larry Clinton; one great-granddaughter, Aubrey Kyle Clinton; a sister, Mary Sipe, and numerous nephews and nieces and dear friends.
