November 7, 1952 – November 14, 2025
Connie Cleo Watson, 73, of Lubbock, Texas, finally decided she’d had enough of this earthly nonsense and made her grand exit on November 14, 2025 — exactly one week after her birthday, because of course she wasn’t going to miss her own party.
She’s now reunited in Heaven with her forever person (husband), Danny Watson, and her parents Jo Rita Ray Lowe and Cleo Lowe, likely catching them up on everything they’ve missed (and correcting them when they’re wrong — which, let’s be honest, they probably are).
Connie was a force of nature disguised as a Registered Nurse with a master’s degree and a passion for teaching. Her students adored her, mostly because she taught with equal parts brilliance, sarcasm, and the occasional side-eye. She could diagnose a patient, run a code, and deliver a perfectly timed zinger — all before her second Dr. Pepper of the day.
She is survived by her son Aaron Watson (who inherited her stubborn streak), daughter-in-law Janet Watson, and grandson Ethan Watson. Also surviving her are her daughter Heather Durham (who got her sass), son-in-law Dusty Durham, and grandson Gunner Durham (who got her heart).
They will miss her fiercely — and in true “Granny fashion”, she also took the cat with her on the way out. “Kevin”, who always ranked higher than most humans in her book, joined Heaven 3 days before her to make sure things were in order for her arrival. He will be sorely missed as well…ok, maybe not, he was a pest, but she loved him and that’s all that mattered!
Connie loved fiercely, laughed loudly, and never backed down from a good debate (or a bad one). She was spicy, sharp, and unapologetically herself — a true original who left the world better, and definitely more interesting, than she found it.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you adopt a cat, tell someone off (nicely), or raise a glass in her honor — preferably something strong, with a sarcastic toast.
A visitation will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home, located at 5740 19th St., Lubbock, Texas, on November 19, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 1:50 pm. A graveside service will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park, 5740 19th St., Lubbock, Texas, beginning at 2:00 pm.
