

Celebration of Life services for Coy Lehman Allen, 87, of Lubbock will be held at 10 am, Monday, May 23, 2011 at Resthaven’s Abbey Chapel with Doug Hale officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
A visitation will be held from 3 to 4:30 pm, Sunday, May 22, 2011 at Resthaven Funeral Home. He passed from this life Thursday, May 19, 2011.
Coy Lehman was born March 6, 1924 in Konawa, Oklahoma to the late Oscar Jefferson and Lydia Ann (Dudley) Allen.
He attended school in Anton, TX. Plains, TX., Brownfield, TX., and Highway, NM.
Coy served as a sergeant in the United States Army during WWII and Korea. During WWII and the Korean War, Coy fought in the European Theater, Asiatic Pacific Theater, and Philippine Liberation and in the Korean War Theater, where he received the decorations of Meritorious Unit Award and the Victory Medal. He married the love of his life, Elsie Irene Lott in Clovis, NM August 21, 1946.
Coy was employed as the District Foreman for 35 years at West Texas Gas Co/ Pioneer Natural Gas Co/ Cabot Gas Co.
In his retirement he enjoyed welding, building trailers and working with anything metal. He was, throughout his life, nicknamed “Doc” because he could fix anything and everything that someone brought to his attention that needed to be fixed.
Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his loving wife, Elsie Irene, sons; Duane Allen and wife, Sherry of Lubbock, Ralph Allen and wife Denise, of Tyler, grandchildren; Joshua Allen and wife, Chanda of Lubbock, Meagan Allen of Austin, Leigh Ann Allen of Lubbock, Justin Allen of Austin, Daniel Allen of Lubbock, Laura Hale of Amarillo and great granddaughter; Landry Grace Allen of Lubbock.
Coy was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings; Leon Newsome, Elbert Newsome, Ora (Newsome) Stevens, Elga Newsome, Delton Allen, Bernice Allen, Lewis Allen, Claud Allen, Dolphus Allen and daughter–in-law; Velvon Allen.
