He married Norma Torres on September 2, 1995 at St. John Newman’s Catholic Church in Lubbock. Danny worked in the construction industry for over 30 years displaying a wonderful knack of solving problems and managing personnel. He truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures, chatting with friends and family and rooting for the Dallas Cowboys. Danny had an amazing spirit about him, always eager to meet new people and accepted everyone for who they were. He loved spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed getting dressed up in his cowboy boots and loved to “scoot the boot” on the dance floor. Lastly, he secretly loved his furry friend, “Chico”, even though he tried giving him away on multiple occasions.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents; his mother-in-law, Maria Luisa Salgado; and his brothers, John Torres and Joe F. Torres.
Danny is survived by his wife, Norma; two sons, Daniel (Cindy) Torres of Amarillo and Anthony (Angel) Torres of Canyon; five daughters, Sonia Castillo, Christi (Chris) Lane and Ashley Castillo all of Lubbock, Casey (Johnny) Shaver of Magnolia and Mandi (Adrian) Cervantez of Idalou; siblings, Diane Torres and Armondo Torres of Hereford, Sylvia Ramirez of Andrews and David Torres of Midland; 25 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Sunday, January 5, 2020 at Resthaven Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 6, 2020 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park.
