

David, as known by all of his friends and family, was born in Running Water, Texas and lived in Halfway, TX, until he was 7 years old. Then David and his family moved to Ropesville, TX. He was active in sports while in the Ropes School District and received a basketball scholarship to Wayland Baptist College in Plainview, TX.
During the draft of the Korean War, David enlisted in the Naval Branch. He served 4 years in the Navy and 2 years in the Reserves. After the service, he returned to Ropesville, TX, to farming.
David fell in love with Adelle Yvonne Fuller "Von" when she was in 8th grade and David was a senior in high school. They married after David was out of the service.
David was a member of the Baptist Church and gave his life to Jesus Christ when he was 7 years old. He was active in the Baptist Church as a church secretary and enjoyed being a coach in Little League Baseball, Little Dribblers (boys and girls), FFA and 4H showings, and a school board member.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Omer William Dalton of Odessa, MO, and Nellie Patience Shropshire of Alvarado, TX; his only brother, Omer Lee Dalton; his wife and love of his life, Adelle Yvonne "Von" Fuller. David is survived by his children, Larry David Dalton and his wife Judy McKinley Dalton, and Sharon Kay Dalto; grandchildren, Jennifer Drue Dalton and Katherine Jill Morton (Chance); and 5 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 5740 19th St, Lubbock, TX 79407, on February 9, 2024 at 1:00 PM.
At this time, no flowers are to be sent to Resthaven Funeral Home & Memorial Park.
